    Despite many global challenges facing Europe and the US, the economic prospects are improving for both economies, finds a new study from the Center for Transatlantic Relations, Johns Hopkins University. The transatlantic economy is picking up steam as we are seeing growth, confident markets and decreasing unemployment rates in the EU and the US.

    The entry into force of the Trade Facilitation Agreement (TFA) today is a welcome development that will help boost global trade and confirms the value of specific multilateral agreements. It will simplify international import and export procedures, reduce the cost related to customs formalities and transit requirements and will be particularly important to help developing economies better compete and participate in the global marketplace. Trade facilitation has become even more relevant in a rapidly growing international e-commerce market, allowing local micro, small and medium sized business to scale up.
  • Single Market adds 3.6 million jobs annually

    A new study finds that the Single Market adds 3.6 million jobs and boosts the EU’s GDP by 1.7% or approximately €250 billion annually. The study which was commissioned by the American Chamber of Commerce to the European Union (AmCham EU) features a country-by-country analysis revealing that each EU Member State has benefited from the Single Market. It also shows that increasing trade in services among EU countries and breaking down remaining barriers would bring additional gains to citizens and businesses.

    The American Chamber of Commerce to the European Union (AmCham EU) and Junior Achievement Europe (JA Europe) are pleased to announce that MeetingPackage.com, a Finnish start-up, is the winner of the 2016 AmCham EU Youth Entrepreneurship Award. MeetingPackage.com is an online platform dedicated to the booking of meeting rooms. It allows users to compare various meeting venues and prices at a glance.
